If you are like me almost every day we put off getting healthy and losing weight, and you complain that you never get the time to work out or to cook healthy food.

Now thankfully there are some simple things you can do that can drastically improve your health and burn off that extra fat.

One of them is just drinking a glass of plain water right when you wake up.

This simple trick can work wonders and in this article, I plan to explain how it works and how you can do it.

I have been struggling with my weight for some time and I have tried different diets and workouts and the main problem time and time again was the lack of consistency. I started off good and then I would just fall off the wagon again.

I would work out for a  couple of days and maybe eat a few healthy meals and then just fall back into my old routine.

So recently a friend of mine forwarded a video to me see below, of the great benefits of just drinking water on an empty stomach right when you wake up.

And since then for the last three months, I have done just that every morning like clockwork I woke up got out of bed and drank at least two glasses of water, then I would move on to my normal routine of checking my emails and prepping the kids for school and myself for work.

Benefits of Drinking Water Right When You Wake Up

1- Speeds up Your Metabolism

Water in general speed ups your metabolism one study showed that drinking water increased metabolism by almost 30% this means that your body would use up 30% of excess calories, Citation. 

Now when you drink water right when you get up it kicks start your metabolism throughout the day and thus increases the amount of fat burnt.

I personally have lost 25 pounds over the last three months on this routine. 

2- Increases Your Energy

Once your metabolism is boosted and your fat is being burnt away all this produces extra energy this will cause your attention and endurance levels to skyrocket.

I use to feel tired and weary as by midday now I feel more upbeat and less tired and can last straight throughout the day without wanting of a cup of coffee to wake me up.

3- Flushes Out Toxins

When you drink water when you get up it increases the amount of urination and sweat over the course of the day.

And the best way the body gets rid of toxins is through urine and sweat.

By getting rid of toxins you improve your immune system and decrease the number of infections you get.

How to Make this Work

The rules are pretty simple as soon as you wake up before brushing your teeth or checking your phone go and drink two glasses of water, drink more if you can.

Now if you cant immediately handle two glasses start with one glass every morning and work your way up.

Once you have drunk your water dont eat anything for 45 minutes and that’s it. Pretty simple and straightforward nothing too hard.

Stick with this for at least a month and the results will surprise you.
